BETTER YOU CHALLENGE
Privacy Policy
Effective September 10, 2026
Better You Challenge is a 30-day accountability app presented by Nelson Fuertes II. This policy explains what information the app collects, why it is used, and the choices available to members.
Information we collect
- Account and contact information: name, email address, phone number, profile photo, authentication details, challenge participation choice, and start date.
- Challenge activity: completed tasks, streaks, compliance, gratitude entries, notes, nutrition-plan descriptions, settings, and reminder preferences.
- Health and fitness information you choose to provide: weight, body-fat percentage, workouts, hydration goals, weekly check-ins, and progress photos.
- Communications: group posts, private messages, coach comments, and messages sent to the challenge owner.
- Basic technical information: information needed to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the app.
How information is used
Information is used to create and secure accounts, provide the checklist and progress features, calculate streaks and compliance, support groups and private messages, deliver reminders, respond to support requests, and maintain the app.
Health data and progress photos
Weight, body-fat information, private check-ins, and progress photos are private by default. The group owner may see whether a weekly check-in was submitted, but not the underlying numbers or photos. Members control whether selected information is shared with a coach. Better You Challenge is not a medical service and does not provide medical advice.
Apple Health and Health Connect: The phone app optionally requests read-only access to step count. The current step total is processed on the device to verify the 10,000-step commitment. Better You Challenge does not write health data, sell health data, use it for advertising, or upload the underlying step count to the app’s servers. Only the resulting challenge-task completion is saved with the member’s normal challenge activity. Access can be changed at any time in Apple Health or Health Connect.
Sharing and disclosure
We do not sell personal information. Information may be shared only as needed with service providers that host and operate the app, when a member chooses to share it with a coach or group, to protect the safety and security of the service, or when legally required.
Storage and security
Account information and app data are stored using cloud services, including Supabase and the app’s hosting providers. Reasonable safeguards are used, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. Members should use a strong, unique password and keep login information private.
Notifications and external links
Members can control available reminder and announcement preferences in the app. The app may link to third-party resources, YouTube videos, and product pages. Those services have their own privacy practices. Some product links may be affiliate links.
Retention and deletion
When a save is pending, the app keeps an account-specific copy on your device until the server confirms it. Private check-ins and journals remain attached to your account. You can choose to save your latest AI conversation privately to your account; this is off by default, and you can delete that saved conversation in the AI screen.
We record limited app events such as signup, subscription-screen visits, purchase attempts, and active days to improve the service. These events do not include journal text, conversations, photos, health readings, or payment details. Signed-in events are associated with your account; signup-screen visits use a temporary visit identifier. Event reporting uses a 90-day retention window.
If you join the next-team waitlist, authorized admins can see your name and account email to plan the next round. Joining does not change your current challenge or start a subscription.
Information is retained while an account is active and as reasonably necessary to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the app. To request deletion of an account and its associated personal data, email hello@betteryouchallenge.net from the email address connected to the account with the subject “Better You Account Deletion.” After verifying the request, the account and associated app data will be deleted, except information that must be retained for legal or security reasons.
Children
Better You Challenge is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
